New Adult Classes Starting in January

Try something new in the New Year! Below are a variety of new classes starting in January 2019:

Ladies Barre & Ballroom
Ages 16+
Instructor: Jennifer Gooding
Barre fitness & conditioning along with Ladies ballroom moves to give you a great workout. No partner allowed in this class. Improve your posture, alignment, balance and flexibility. 
1/8 – 2/12 | Tuesdays 6 – 6:45 pm

Musical Autist Troupe
Ages 13-25
Instructor: C.J. Shiloh MT-BC
Led by a Board Certified Music Therapist, this inclusive group of teens and young adults with and without disabilities will have the opportunity to build relationships while working toward performance opportunities. Previous music skills are a benefit, though not required. Mentor Musicians, ranging from high school/college interns to local performing artists, volunteer their time and musical expertise to help the Troupe rehearse and sound amazing!
1/15 - 5/14 | Wednesdays 4 pm – 5:15 pm

Pastel Painting Class & Open Studio
Ages 16+
Instructor: Andrea Olney-Wall
For the beginner to intermediate student. This class offers students space to work with assistance as needed for techniques, critiques, use of materials and problem solving. Beginners may work with instruction, on several types of papers, and pastels for basic color mixing, applications and finishing of one or more pieces. 
1/15 – 2/19 | Tuesdays 6 – 8 pm

Fiber Arts Class & Open Studio
Ages 16+
Instructor: Andrea Olney-Wall
This introductory studio class is offered to students working in all mediums and have an interest in fiber arts constructions. Weekly demonstrations include using new materials and techniques. We will cover surface painting/printing, embellishment, hand weaving, sculpting, needle work with papers, threads, bamboo, textile paints, inks dyes, yarns etc.
1/16 – 2/20 | Wednesdays 6 – 8 pm

It’s Not Too Hard to Resist!
Ages 18+
Instructor: Linda Luke
Learn to use various resist materials and methods to protect the beautiful white paper in your colorful watercolor color paintings. You will leave this workshop with a small painting, many samples and reference pages for future use.
1/17 | Thursday 10 am – 4 pm

Saturday Open Studio for Drawing & Painting
Ages 16+
Instructor: Andrea Olney-Wall
This class is for beginner to intermediate level students who have some knowledge of materials and are ready to move forward to more complex subjects, compositions and techniques. Students will receive individual assistance with techniques, subjects, materials and questions concerning their drawings or paintings.
1/19 – 2/23 | Saturdays 1:30 pm – 3:30pm

Urban Sketching
Ages 16+
Instructor: Stephanie Scarlata
In this class, students will practice documenting the everyday parts of life through a journal. The main focus will be exploring different techniques in urban sketching while covering basics in composition and typography. The goal is to document what you see visually. Demonstrations, handouts, and individual feedback will keep you inspired to keep capturing your world, long after the class is over.
