Course Description: 

Ballet Theater of Maryland offers classes in two Annapolis locations. Go to for a complete list.Please contact Nicole Kelsch, School Principal, at 410-263-8289 for more information regarding the Ballet Theatre of Maryland Program. This class is designed to develop additional strength and refinement in pointe and/or one's work for the intermediate-level student. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment, sculpting the legs and feet, anatomically building both endurance and stamina for executing advanced pre-professional class work. Students at this level must take a minimum of 4 technique classes and 3 pointe classes per week. Students not interested in demi-pointe or pointe classes may take less technique classes at the discretion of the school director but must maintain mastery and appropriate strength to continue classes at this level. Prerequisite: Five or more years of previous ballet training and mastery of Intermediate 1 exams, audition and faculty approval. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows: Girls: Black BTM leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Please Note: BTM ‘s black leotard may be purchased exclusively through BTM. Order forms are available on the website,, or by calling our office at 410-263-8289. Forms will also be available in classrooms the first few weeks of class. No jewelry allowed. Hair must be neatly pulled back from the face into a bun. Boys: White t-shirt, black tights, and white or black ballet slippers. No class October 8-13.
