Featuring Live Music by the Army's Jazz Ambassadors

Featuring mostly Stravinsky, BTM takes you on a fantastic journey of works-new, old and bold as it presents Stravinsky’s beloved fairy tale: The Firebird. Mendelssohn’s “Italian Symphonette” returns along with a new Stravinsky work, a new work by New York composer Kevin Keller and more.

The program features two Stravinsky works:  The great Russian fairytale classic, The Firebird; and Savoyan Nights, a progressive jazz version of Stravinsky’s music played live by the Army’s Jazz Ambassadors.  The Firebird is Stravinsky’s most famous work and tells the story of the noble Prince Ivan as he rescues the beautiful Princess Tsarevna from the clutches of an evil sorceress with help of a magical bird of fire.

This performance is a feast for all ages and tastes and is a fitting way for BTM to close its 40th Anniversary Season. Come to the performance on Saturday, April 27th and attend our 40th Anniversary Grande Season Finale Party immediately following the performance in Chaney Gallery.
