Heirloom | Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts

Martino Gallery, 2nd floor

New work by Maryland Hall Artist-in-Residence Anne Chamberlain.

Gallery Reception & AIR Open Studios: Thursday, November 12 | 5:30 - 7 pm

Anne Chamberlain says of her work, “This next chapter of my work "Heirloom" focuses on the lush but tenuous beauty of our world.  My grandmother grew up on a 6,000 acre sheep farm in California - her stories and photographs of my family working that massive parcel of land gave me a sense of thrift, instilled a need for sustainability, and inspired my artwork.  Through this next collection I will feature many of Maryland's farms, running or in some cases, in ruin.  I intend to create a show that centers on the beauty and undeniable need to take note of our natural world and those who work it, for our own lives and for the sake of those around us.  The earth is, after all, our heirloom.”
