Tap Dancing on Main Stage with a Sonnet in Bowen? No Problem!
Things to know about Capital Campaign
Act III – Scene 1 is Maryland Hall’s third capital campaign within the last 20 years. The first two (Act I and Act II) made possible upgrades to the Main Theatre (orchestra pit, new seats, box seats and sightlines, new curtains, new windows and shutters, and acoustic shell and ceiling) and the new theatre production wing (dressing rooms, freight elevator, loading dock, ADA services).
Thanks to Michael E. Busch, Maryland Hall already has 1.3 million dollars in Bond Bills. If we don’t use it, we lose it!
The project includes a new building-wide HVAC system with fresh air ventilation, and upgrades to the Bowen Theatre, including acoustically decoupling our Main Stage and the Bowen Theatre ceiling. The first affects everyone who walks through the doors of Maryland Hall and is vital to the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, teachers, students, and patrons. The second enables the Bowen Theatre to include functions as a multipurpose theatre, addressing the communities’ ever-increasing demand for its use.
We accept gifts of all sizes for this capital campaign!
