Course Description: 

Ballet Theater of Maryland offers classes in two Annapolis locations. Go to www.balletmaryland.org for a complete list.Please contact Nicole Kelsch, School Principal, at 410-263-8289 for more information regarding the Ballet Theatre of Maryland Program. In this class, vocabulary of the barre and centre, the foundation for the 5 modes of jumping, as well as the leg alignment for pointe work is introduced. Students at this level must take 3 technique classes per week to be eligible to study pre-pointe/demi-pointe. Prerequisite: Mastery of Beginning Ballet 1 & 2 exams or by audition and faculty approval. Students who are not interested in pointe may take only two technique classes at this level if they maintain sufficient technical mastery and progress. The attire for all classes, except where otherwise noted, is as follows: Girls: Black BTM leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers. Please Note: BTM ‘s black leotard may be purchased exclusively through BTM. Order forms are available on the website, www.balletmaryland.org, or by calling our office at 410-263-8289. Forms will also be available in classrooms the first few weeks of class. No jewelry allowed. Hair must be neatly pulled back from the face into a bun. Boys: White t-shirt, black tights, and white or black ballet slippers. No class October 8-13.
