Sweeten will conduct a selection of American and Patriotic music in tribute to our nation's Veterans, including Battle Hymn of the Republic by William Steffe and marches by Henry Fillmore and John Philip Sousa. Captain Thomas R. Buchanan, the United States Naval Academy's 88th Commandant of Midshipmen, will be the guest speaker. Staff Sergeant Megan May, member of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, 193rd Special Operations Wing, will perform as guest vocalist on several patriotic selections. A special video and music montage featuring Samuel Hazo's work, Each Time You Tell Their Story, will be presented in honor of Gold Star and POW/MIA families. Chief Musician Rory Cherry will sing country music artist Aaron Tippin's hit, Where the Stars and Stripes and Eagle Fly.

The Naval Academy Band has been providing music for the Brigade of Midshipmen and the surrounding community since 1852. Located at the Naval Academy, in Annapolis, this premier military band offers world-class ensembles which perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.
